If you choose a tarp, don't let it reach the ground! This might make the wood appear better covered. However, it also makes it more susceptible to condensation. Also, avoid completely covering the logs with the tarp, to allow for better ventilation. The tarp should be slightly sloped so that water can drain without pooling, but that's all. Otherwise, for optimal shelter, you'll need a woodshed, a shed, or a patio with a pitched roof, which will be more effective than a simple tarp.
Mistake #3: Poorly Ventilated Wood Storage.
First, you should know that you should avoid storing firewood directly on the ground at all costs. This prevents air circulation and therefore promotes stalk rotting and condensation. To avoid this problem, simply use a pallet or arrange the logs so that the stack is raised. For the same reason, it's important to avoid leaning the stack against the wall. Leave at least 10 centimeters between the wall and the wood.

Mistake #4: Storing logs that are not dry
