That day, the baby monitor screen blinked softly. Nothing alarming. But upon closer inspection, something caught their attention. Their dog, usually so calm, pushed open the gate with an almost solemn gentleness. In her mouth, she carried one of her puppies. Each step was measured, each gesture cautious. She advanced slowly, crossed the hallway… and entered their daughter's room.
Without a sound, she approaches the cradle. And there, before the astonished eyes of the parents, she gently places her little one right next to the sleeping baby.
A scene straight out of a fairy tale… but very real
The two newborns are there, side by side, as if they had always belonged to each other. The puppy snuggles against the little girl, whose hand gently brushes its fur. No cry, no startle. Just a suspended moment, a silent connection. And the dog, standing guard. Neither agitated nor guilty. Just present, confident, protective.
