3 colors you should never wear to a funeral

Have you received an invitation to a funeral and don't know what to wear? The choice may seem trivial, but it actually conveys an implicit message. A color too flashy, a detail too festive... and you risk, without realizing it, diverting attention from the true purpose of the ceremony: paying tribute to and supporting your loved ones. So, which colors should you avoid altogether?

Bright red: too strong a symbol for the occasion

In our daily lives, red represents energy, passion, and sometimes even luck. In Asia, it's often used at weddings, symbolizing joy and prosperity. But in the context of a funeral, this same intensity may seem inappropriate.

Imagine a meeting dressed in black or dark colors, and suddenly, a bright red dress or scarlet tie captures everyone's attention.   Even without malicious intent, this contrast can be interpreted as a way of asserting oneself at a time when discretion and compassion must prevail.

Unless it is an explicit request from the family (as some cultures use red to symbolize life or rebirth),   it is best to refrain from doing so  .

Neon and vibrant colors: too much joy for a moment of contemplation.
