How to prepare pearl barley correctly
To make your porridge soft and tasty, follow these simple rules:
• rinse the flakes thoroughly in several waters until they become transparent
• make sure to soak them for 4 hours before cooking (1 cup of flakes - 1 liter of water)
• use a large saucepan: pearl barley increases in size almost 5 times

RECIPE #1 – Classic pearl barley with water
Ingredients:
2.4 dl pearl barley
, 1.5 dl water,
30 g butter
, salt
Instructions:
Cover the flakes with cold water, bring to a boil and simmer for 45 minutes. Drain the water, add butter and salt, stir, cover and let steep.
