We've all encountered those unwanted insects that invade our homes. Our immediate reaction? To squash them. But did you know that this method is not only ineffective but can also pose a health risk? Discover why it's best to avoid squashing them and what solutions are available to get rid of them effectively.
Why shouldn't you squash cockroaches?
When we see a cockroach in our home, our first reaction is often to squash it. However, this technique is ineffective and can even cause problems. Cockroaches have an extremely resistant exoskeleton, capable of withstanding pressure 900 times greater than their own weight. In other words, even after squashing them, they may survive and eventually escape from the trash can.
Furthermore, when crushed, these insects release allergenic substances contained in their exoskeleton. These particles can cause allergic reactions such as rhinitis or conjunctivitis in sensitive individuals, particularly children.
